Adventure training courses

Adventure training is one of our most popular activities. There’s something to suit everyone, from hiking and mountaineering to canoeing and kayaking. What’s more, most of our courses lead to nationally recognised qualifications.

Course allocations and applications

To apply for a course you must complete application form AT1, obtain your Squadron Commanders signature then send it to Wing HQ. Candidates must not apply direct to HQAC and no other form of application will be accepted.

Wing HQ will inform you of the outcome including any requirements or caveats and send the form onto HQAC Physical Education Administration (Phys Ed Admin) by the ‘bids by’ date. HQ will make the final allocation from the applications received.

Don’t forget!

It is your responsibility to ensure that a copy of your logbook (if appropriate to the course being applied for) reach HQAC Phys Ed Admin by the bids by date.

Individual bids will not be acknowledged upon receipt, however, applicants can check with HQAC Phys Ed Admin that their form has arrived. It is usual to allocate a place to all applicants who have the correct pre-course requirements and have been authorised to attend. For this reason, it’s best to make arrangements for leave from your employment, college or university as soon as you apply.

Applicants will be contacted by e-mail about their allocation shortly after the bids by date. If you don’t have an e-mail address then you should use the e-mail address of a third party.

Due to the cost and commitment of employing instructors, applications for courses received after the bids by date may not be considered.

For more information about courses or submitting an application, Contact HQ Air Cadets Physical Education Staff. Tel: 01400 267623 or 01400 267622 or e-mail: physedadmin@atc.raf.mod.uk
